Changes to IEPWriter

If you were not able to attend the Spring Meetings here are the changes we are looking to make to IEPWRITER:

  • Have the PBSP work like the communication plan where when you check something in the IEP it becomes part of the process (We will clarify further)
  • Have ability to choose what edit checks are done on the IEP (turn on or off)
  • STaR: if using this and the e-signature module for MPAF have it automatically create the entry for billing to Medicaid
  • Additions to notification center: change in primary disability, student added to roster, student becomes eligible for special education, home district change (also show PA Secure ID and initials in emails)
  • "Restore Deleted Student" function for admins
  • The ability for Admins to restore deleted staff records (Guardians as well)
  • Ability for IEP Case Manager to print all progress reports on roster
  • GIEP Revision process
  • Ability to pull text from "In Process" ER/RR into IEP
  • Advance page on top of student search grid
  • Guardian page: ability to pick phone and email that would appear on documents
  • Upload documents – show on student home page if not associated with specific document
  • Add 504 fields to custom rosters
  • Add "last changed by" on screens
  • Ability to stop transfer (if incorrect school is selected) Inter-district user similar to IU IEP users. Helpful for staff in agencies that provide services to multiple districts
  • District default setting for header and footer items and ability to lock out users from changing
  • Way to identify "in process" kids that you never receive paper work back for so they can be separated from the true in process kids
  • On transition services in IEP, add option to save and add another like we do in other areas
  • Have ability to show multiple parents on ER and RR as well as gifted documents
  • Add gifted reporting to custom rosters
  • Way to indicate on PTE (Permission to Evaluate) that the parent refused or wants informal meeting first
  • Bring Related Service information from IEP over to CC (provider name etc)
  • Add a description field for uploaded documents that are not associated with any type
  • When doing an ER and the child is found to have a disability, but not eligible for special ed, have option to make them a 504 child (if they have the 504 module)
  • Reorganize District Defaults Section

SIF

We are pleased to announce that IEPWriter has met all of the requirements necessary to once again be listed as a SIF-Certified product for this school year. The SIF (Schools Interoperability Framework) standard enables IEPWriter to exchange data with disparate applications seamlessly, provided that each application is also SIF-Certified

This school year marks our 8th year of SIF certification, but the first that we have upgraded to version 2 of the SIF standard, which will provide our customers that use this service with even more functionality when integrating data from other applications. If you are interested in obtaining more information about using SIF with IEPWriter, please contact Lewie Astorino.
