IEPWriter Enhancements

Below is a list of enhancements that we will be making for the 2019-2020 school year and which will be previewed at the Spring Focus Group meetings.

  • Add extra cell phone and email fields to guardians.
  • Create a Gifted IEP at a glance report.
  • Add an additional custom roster function that is simpler to use with less field options.  The current one will remain.  We will offer some of the most used fields and allow districts to choose which ones will show on this option.
  • Create pre-defined compliance reports or extracts needed for the FSA (Facilitated Self-Assessment).
  • Create the ability to upload the signature pages for various forms and attach them to the appropriate document for better identification.
  • On the 504 Invitation Letter, add parent response fields, similar to the School Age Invitation.
  • Add the ability to send a student transfer request to another LEA from within the system.
  • Have a mass update/entry option for the Act 16 categories.
  • Add wildcard options to the STaR text bank.
  • Have the ability to copy FBA information into the RR.
  • On the revision of an IEP, we will reposition the “Save” and “Save and Lock” buttons, so users won’t accidentally hit the wrong one.
  • On the student transfer dashboard screen we will add grade level.
  • Rewriting the SIS bridge with additional reporting features, that will allow users to see on a daily basis what was added or changed in IEPWriter from the districts SIS.
  • Create a verification report in STaR to would look for overlapping times of service.
  • When revising an IEP, make the Act 26 transition question on the revision page required to answer before saving.
  • Add an option to indicate that a student must have a re-eval every 2 years when exceptionality isn’t ID.
  • STaR Reports – Add EI filters to appropriate reports
  • In STaR, show eval time as part of the total time on the schedule page so the providers can see all the time spent in a day.
  • Add a district option to turn on printing of “Individual” or “Group” type defined in the related services when the IEP is printed.
  • Add option to start a new IEP from a blank form, if the user does not want to start from previous one.
  • Add state testing to district options for checking before IEP can be finalized.
  • In ESY area of the IEP have a field to put in the ESY service dates so all services being added will default to those dates.

Accommodations in the IEP

Last year we made a change that listed the available accommodations that a user can choose for different state tests in the IEP.  We continue to receive helpdesk calls saying that an accommodation that a school needs is not showing.  Every district has the ability to add or remove accommodations in the system.  This can be done by anyone with admin or super admin rights.  It can be found under My District – Dropdown Menus – Accommodations .

Forgotten Passwords

One of the recent updates to IEPWriter changed how passwords are handled and stored.  If you forget your password , you can click on the “Forgot your username or password” link.  The system will then ask for your username.  Once you enter your username a onetime use reset password link will be sent to your registered email address.  If you don’t remember your username any system administrator within the district can find your username or reset your password.  The helpdesk and programming staff cannot see your password as it is encrypted for security purposes.

In Closing…

We hope everybody is staying warm. We look forward to seeing everybody again and showcasing our changes at the Spring Focus Group meetings!
