Spring Focus Group Meetings

Once again, we would like to thank all the participants for taking time out of their busy schedules to attend the meetings and share their feedback.  It is always very helpful to us to hear firsthand your thoughts and suggestions on our enhancements. The response we received for our partnership with IU13 and adding the Progress Monitoring module was very good and we were pleased to see that.  In addition to the list we had previously sent out for enhancements, there are a few additional items that we will be releasing that are listed below:

  • Rolling out a new rich text editor with IE 11 support.
  • Bringing over RR assessment data when creating a new RR from previous one.
  • Adding the ability to select students on the Print All progress reports option.
  • On the IEP assessment page, adding a Clear All button.
  • Adding the ability to have Current News items sent to your email address.
  • For those that use OnHand/EdInsight software, sharing roster information and accessing testing information that can be used in the IEP document.

Also, if there are test formats that you utilize that are not in the text bank (or if there are new versions of ones that are currently in there), please send them to us so that we may include them. Please send to Lewie Astorino at [email protected].

Firefox PDF Viewer

Firefox had developed their own PDF viewer that was released in version 19 and is the default viewer unless changed by the user.  We have discovered from recent meetings and helpdesk tickets that some users have not changed this setting and unfortunately, the Firefox viewer does not render the PDF documents properly and it prints the URL with the documents.  Below are the instructions for changing the default viewer back to Adobe Acrobat Viewer.

To switch back to the Acrobat plug-in, follow these steps from within Firefox:

  1. Click Tools > Options (on a Mac, click Firefox > Preferences).
  2. In the Options dialog box, click the "Applications" icon.
  3. Scroll down to "Portable Document Format."
  4. Click where it says "Preview with Firefox" and select "Use Adobe Reader (in Firefox)."
  5. Click OK.

Upcoming Events

Leader is a premiere sponsor of the Leadership Summer Academy conference July 28 – July 31.  If you are attending, please stop by our booth and say hello.

Leader will also be at the Eastern PA Special Education Administrator Conference October 29-31 at the Hershey Lodge.

Disaster Recovery

Did you know that Leader has several precautions in effect to protect your data in the case of a disaster or other disruptive event?  First, Leader has a gas powered generator that automatically kicks on in the event of a power failure and keeps all of our servers and equipment running so that the users do not experience any downtime.  We have multiple lines from different suppliers so that if one goes down, the traffic automatically switches to the other source.   Finally, we have a disaster recovery site at our Harrisburg office.  If anything were to happen to our Hazleton, PA location, we merely have to load the data into our stand-by servers in our Harrisburg, PA office and our users would be back in business.  We just wanted to make sure that everybody is aware that we take your trust in us very seriously and try to have solutions for issues that may arise.

In Closing…

Finally we want to wish everybody a safe and fun summer!  (Remember the sun block!)
